Palin Parent–Child Interaction Therapy (Palin PCI) is a six-week, research‑supported program developed at the Michael Palin Centre to help young children (ages 7 and younger) who stutter become confident, effective communicators. Palin PCI focuses on strengthening parent–child interactions through guided play, video feedback, and individualized strategies tailored to each child’s needs. Parents will learn practical techniques that make talking easier and more relaxed at home.

Key Features of Palin PCI
  • Parent‑led strategies — Parents learn to identify and strengthen interaction patterns that already support fluency.
  • Video feedback — Therapists use short recordings to help parents notice helpful behaviors and set personalized goals.
  • Flexible, individualized approach — Strategies are tailored to each child’s temperament, communication style, and family routines.
  • Home practice (“Special Time”) — Parents practice targeted techniques in short, structured play sessions at home.
  • Long‑term support — Follow‑up reviews to help maintain progress and confidence.

Benefits for Families

  • Reduces the impact of stuttering on daily life.
